AUSTIN,Texas- The Concordia women's basketball team had their comeback bid fall short in a 82-63 decision against Pacific University. Sophomore guard Jordan Bravo posted a career-high 17 points and team-high five boards inside the Concordia Fieldhouse on Saturday.
The Boxers came out fast with the first five points of the game, but the Tornados evened the game up at 9-9, when a steal by Kallie Krenz turned into a layup for forward Haven Haymes. Both teams traded buckets towards the end of the first frame for a 15-13 score at the end of the quarter.Â
A putback by Sam Ising in the paint tied the game to start the second, but Pacific responded with an 8-0 burst over the next three minutes to regain control. They would continue their hot stretch as they took a 37-21 lead into the break.
CTX chiseled away at the deficit and got the game into single digits at 47-38 following a jumper by Olivia Dummer with 2:49 left in the third. The Boxers answered with another run to push their lead to as much as 25 points with just over two minutes remaining en route to victory.
