AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's basketball team was outlasted in a 93-92 thriller against LeTourneau. Donovan Stafford led all scorers with 28 points, and Corey Thompson poured in a career-high 21 points inside the Concordia Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Both teams were firing on all cylinders offensively in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Yellowjackets then utilized a run for their largest lead of the game at 39-30 with 7:31 remaining.

Branden Myart would then find Luis Gonzalez for a corner three to stop the damage and spark a 14-4 run that was capped off by a steal and fast-break slam by Thompson. Concordia would keep up their momentum and take a 57-52 lead in to the break. 

Both teams stiffened on the defensive side of the ball as the pace slowed down. CTX would nurse their slight lead until LeTourneau tied the game at 69-all at the 9:44 mark. Concordia would respond with a 14-5 burst for their largest lead of the game at 83-74 with 5:44 left. 

LeTourneau chipped away at the deficit and would ultimately find enough buckets and stops for a chance at the lead with 10 seconds remaining. Opting not to call timeout, the Yellowjackets pushed the ball up the court and was fouled with two seconds left. The free throw shooter would knock down both free throws to help them escape with the win. 

Concordia Texas will now have a week off before traveling to Brownwood, Texas to take on Howard Payne next Saturday, December 16th at 1pm.
