AUSTIN, Texas - Concordia Texas men's basketball seniors Antoine Henderson and Antwan Stephens were honored in the final home game of the season for Senior Day. The Tornados fell in a 87-82 nail-biter against UT-Dallas inside the CTX Fieldhouse on Saturday.
The first half was action-packed and featured nine lead changes. Neither team led by more than seven points in the first as the Comets carried a 43-40 advantage into the intermission.
UT-Dallas pushed their lead to 71-60 with 9:24 left. Making a final push, a thunderous putback slam by Tariq Muhammad initiated a surge where Concordia cut the lead down to as little as 85-82 with 18 seconds left. The Comets would capitalize on their free throws to escape with the narrow victory.
Concordia Texas will next head to Abilene, Texas to take on conference leader Hardin-Simmons on Thursday, Feb. 16. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.Â
