Branden Myart posted a career-high seven assists inside Mabee Athletic Complex on Thursday.
The Cowboys raced out with a 17-7 run. As action progressed, both team would trade baskets throughout the first half. Hardin-Simmons, however, would end the first on a 11-3 run to take a 62-38 advantage in the break.Â
CTX came alive in the second half and cut the deficit to 82-71 with 8:52 remaining following a
Jaylon Johnson three-pointer. The Cowboys would use one more push to up their lead to 17 points and fend off the Tornados' comeback bid.
Concordia Texas will now stay in Abilene where they will take on McMurry in a crucial game for conference seeding on Saturday, Feb. 18. Tip off for the regular season finale is set for 3 p.m.
