BOX SCORE WACO, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's tennis team were challenged but outlasted UT-Dallas. The Tornados won two doubles matches and three singles matches at the Waco Regional Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Tornados jumped out to a 2-0 lead when the teams of Joshua Bode / Adrian Munguia (8-3) and Esteban Arredondo / Joeri Bregman (8-4) were victorious. The tandem of Andres Padilla and Daniel Beckles were game, but ultimately fell 8-5 to round out doubles play.
Bode won his tenth match in a row (6-4, 6-2), while Munguia held serve on line two with a 6-0, 6-1 win. UT-Dallas won the next two singles matches, but a clutch performance by Beckles in a three-set comeback victory (5-7, 6-1, 6-4) clinched the series on court five. Â
Concordia Texas will now prep for a showdown with No. 37 Pacific University at the Austin Tennis Academy next Monday, March 27th. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
