RICHARDSON, Texas - Concordia Texas freshman Sophia Padilla was deemed the ASC Women's Golfer of the Week, the league's office announced on Wednesday. This the first time the Spring Branch, Texas native has received the honor. 

Earning her second straight sixth-place finish, Padilla helped lead the Tornados to a third-place finish with a team-low score of 154 (+10). She fired a 75 to finish day one tied for fourth overall. She then tallied a second-round score of 79 to tie for sixth at the loaded field. Overall at the tournament, Padilla posted 19 pars and four birdes (both team-highs). Her score of 154 was eight strokes better than any other ASC member that was apart of the field; which included McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.

Padilla and the Tornados will now head to Longview, Texas for the Pinecrest Intercollegiate, hosted by LeTourneau University, next week on March 13-14.
