ALPINE, Texas- Concordia Texas softball catcher Zaleigh Perez hammered a solo shot to left field in game two of the ASC doubleheader against Sul Ross State University. The Tornados dropped game one 4-13, and secured the victory in game two 11-4 inside Lobo Softball Field on Friday.
GAME ONE: L, 4-13
CTX struck first in the top of the first with Emily Schmuck hitting a double towards right centerfield to bring home Cristina Ayala.
Extending their lead to 2-0, Grace Coleman hit a single to get on base securing an RBI bringing home Schmuck.
The Tornados secured another run in in the top of the fourth by Kaelyn Cash hitting a double down the right field line, securing an RBI to score Kylie Pavlicek.
In the top of the sixth Hooper managed to bring in Coleman, but would claim.

Game TWO: W, 11-4
Top of the fourth Inning CTX turned it on offensively starting with Grace Coleman hitting a sacrificed fly RBI to bring home Ayala putting the Tornados on the board. Immediately after Pavlicek earned an RBI with a base hit to bring home Denaro tying up the game 2-2.
Later in the inning, Megan Hooper grounded out to the pitcher but brought home Emily Schmuck securing an RBI, and putting CTX in the lead. Perez followed with a perfect bunt to the pitcher getting on first and bringing home Pavlicek.
Continuing action offensively, Ayala hits a double to left centerfield securing a 3 RBI double bringing home, Mindy Matthews, Perez, and Emma Chavez extending the lead 7 – 2.
The Tornados surged ahead in the top of the sixth when Perez slammed the homerun to left. Then Denaro followed her when she hit a triple to left to bring home Matthews. Coleman continued to turn up the heat, hitting a single to centerfield and capping off the 11-4 victory..
