AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia softball team upended the University of the Ozarks by a score of 12-4 in six innings. The Tornados earned their second run-rule victory in a row as they scored three runs in four different innings inside of Tornado Softball Field on Good Friday.

The first three Tornados recorded a hit and resulted in a two-RBI double by Kylie Denaro to score Myranda Billman. Later in the inning, Ellie Congalton made contact to send home Denaro and put CTX up 3-0 in the first inning. The Ozarks responded with one run in the top of the second, but Kylie Woods slapped a RBI-single to make it 4-1 in the bottom of the frame. Cristina Ayala and Denaro would also collect RBIs to push the lead to 6-1.

After a scoreless third, the Ozarks posted two runs in the fourth. They then loaded the bases with only one out in the fifth, but Concordia escaped the inning without giving up any runs. Opening the game open, CTX scored another three runs with two of them as the result of sensational bunt-singles by Congalton and Megan Hooper. The Eagles would notch one run in the sixth, but Concordia once again tallied their fourth three-run inning to earn the run-rule victory.

Concordia Texas will now head to Sul Ross for a conference matchup starting with a doubleheader next Friday, April 14th at 4 p.m.
