ROUND ROCK, Texas - In what was the home opener where the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team honored Melvin Molina, the Tornados were bested 1-0 against Texas Lutheran University. The Bulldogs escaped with a second half penalty kick at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.

It was an even game throughout as both teams were identical with four corner kicks and four saves, while the Bulldogs (nine) barely outshot the Tornados (eight).

Junior transfer Jose Aguirre powered a shot right side barely saved in the 10th minute. With both teams in search of the go-ahead goal, neither could take the lead heading into half.

The intensity ramped up in a second half that resulted in four yellow cards and nine fouls. Texas Lutheran broke through for the lone goal of the match after capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 67th minute.

The Tornados will head back out on the road towards Jackson, Mississippi to take on Belhaven University on Thursday, September, 14th at 6:30 pm.
