JACKSON, Miss.- The Concordia Texas men's soccer team came up short in a physical, 1-0 battle against Belhaven on Thursday night inside Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
CTX produced one of their biggest offensive outburst of the season, dialing in season-highs of fifteen shots and seven corner kicks. Tornado midfielder Christian Barillas played strong offensively shooting 4 shots for a season-high with Jonathan De La Torre attempting 3.
The Tornados held strong defensively in the first half with senior goalie Joshua Redding securing two saves to bring the score 0-0 going into halftime.
CTX continued to fire away offensively coming out of halftime gunning eight shots, but Belhaven broke through the Tornados secondary in the 60th minute to score the game's first goal.
De La Torre almost netted the equalizer in the 83rd minute, but the shot waved slightly to the right.
Next up the Tornados will stay on the road in Jackson, Mississippi to clash against Millsaps College on Friday, September 15th at 5 PM.
