SEGUIN, Texas - The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team clashed against Texas Lutheran for a 1-1 draw in a Monday night matchup. Junior midfielder Erin Folkner split the defense for her second goal of the season inside Gustafson Field.
The Tornados played all of first half very aggressively, securing three saves on ten shot attempts. Within the 36th of the match Folkner juked two defenders and powered in a shot to put CTX on the board. That would end the first half to bring the score 1-0 with Concordia on top.
To open up the second half, sophomore midfielder Felicia Cortazar attempted a shot slightly missing to the left in the 49th minute. Shortly after, TLU scored a goal to tie the game 1-1 in the 54th minute. Forward Kaley Kasper aimed two shots in the last minute of the game in an attempt to put Concordia in the lead, but both ended up getting saved to end the matchup in a draw.
The Tornados will journey back home to face off in a conference matchup against LeTourneau University on Sep. 28 at 5 PM inside the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, see you then!
