GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's soccer team was bested in a second-half shootout at Southwestern University, 3-1.
Kaley Kaspar scored her first goal of the season at the Southwestern Varisty Fields on Friday.
Although the first half was filled with action and opportunity, neither team was able to find the back of the net.
Converting on a beautiful corner kick from
Addie Hackney, Kaspar fired the ball from the back post into the goal in the 56th for the opening score of the match.
With both teams in search of the elusive next goal, the Pirates knotted the game up at 1-apiece in the 78th minute. They would then connect on back-to-back goal in the closing minutes for the victory.
Concordia Texas will now travel to Seguin, Texas to take on Texas Lutheran in the final tune-up before conference play.
