BOX SCORE GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team was bested in a close, defensive 1-0 battle against the Southwestern Pirates. The Tornados doubled their opponents in shot attempts, 11-5, at the Southwestern Varsity Fields on Friday night.
The defense was strong for the majority of the match as fourth-year goalkeeper
Joshua Redding only faced three shots on the night. Fifth-year
Bernabe Torres fired a season-high three shots on goal, but was unable to break through.
The Pirates were able to connect on a double-assist goal in the 24th minute; which served as the loan goal in the defensive slug fest.
Concordia Texas will now return home to host Trinity in the final tune-up before conference play on Sunday, September 24th at 7 p.m.
