ROUND ROCK, Texas- The Concordia Texas women's soccer team was outlasted in a 2-1 decision against East Texas Bapist University. Maddie Oberholtzer notched her second goal in as many matches inside the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex on Saturday.
The Tornados got onto the scoreboard early in the ninth when Kaley Kaspar secured a clear out and crossed a pass to a streaking Oberholtzer. Both teams saw multiple opportunities to score, but CTX went into the intermission with the 1-0 lead.
The Tigers knotted the game up three minutes into the second half. CTX had a chance to reclaim the lead following a foul in the box a few minutes later, but ETBU made the save to keep the score at bay.
In search of the equalizer, a pair of headers by Kallie Krenz & Kaspar sailed just high off the cross bar in the 72nd minute.
A counter attack goal by the Tigers proved to be the go-ahead in the 82nd after a run and shot by Oberholtzer harmlessly fell into the keeper's hands in the final minutes.
Concordia Texas will now hit the road for Alpine, Texas next Thursday, October 5th at 1 p.m.
