ABILENE, Texas- The Concordia women's basketball team was bested by Hardin Simmons by a score of 103-58 inside Mabee Complex. Tornado senior guard Zakari Perry shot for her career high of 17 points Saturday afternoon.
Perry came out hot, securing all six points for CTX in the first five minutes of the game for a score of 6-8.
The Tornados slowed down offensively until the start of the second quarter going on a 12-3 run to cut into the deficit, 20-28. A handful of back-to-back threes would extend the lead for the cowgirls approaching halftime as both teams continued to stay aggressive.
To start the second half, Concordia wasted no time in attacking the paint with a great handoff by Perry to Chelsea Cogborn to lay it up and secure her first points of the game. Coming down to the final two minutes of the third-quarter CTX would go on an 8-2 run, but the cowgirls would go onto claim the win.
The Concordia Texas women's basketball team will now travel to Belton, Texas to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor on January 20 at 1 PM.
