Zakari Perry tallied a game-high 14 points in the victory.

LONGVIEW, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team smothered LeTourneau University and held them to a season-low in points in a 53-46 victory. Senior guard Zakari Perry posted a game-high 14 points as the Tornados forced 28 turnovers inside Solheim Arena on Thursday.

The Tornados got on the board at the 6:28 mark when Perry fed Haven Haymes in the paint to make it a 6-2 game. The Yellowjackets nursed a slim lead into the second quarter before Abby Parra knocked down a pair of free throws to give CTX their first lead of the game at 15-14. The game was knotted up at 20-all with 6:25 remaining in the half when Concordia's defense would stiffen. CTX held LeTourneau to no more points & took a 25-20 advantage into the break.

Both teams traded baskets in the third, and Concordia would take a 39-36 lead into the final frame. A pair of free throws by the Yellowjackets made it a 44-42 game at the 5:10 mark, but timely buckets by Perry & Daysha Tijerina upped the lead to 48-42 at the 2:49 mark. Concordia would continue to hold firm defensively and grind to the conference victory.
