CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - The Concordia Texas women's soccer team earned their second straight clean sheet in conference play with a 4-0 win over the University of the Ozarks. Fifth-year forward
Kallie Krenz posted two goals at Wilson Field on Sunday.
The Tornados dominated in all facets of the match as they fired off 22 shots, compared to the Eagles only getting one attempt throughout the entirity of the match. The Tornados broke through in the 23rd when
Emma Visser intercepted a pass and tapped the ball to Krenz for the goal.
The Tornados then scored just three minutes later, a lob by
Falynn Pyterek connected with a streaking
Lorian Lopez who then crossed back and fired into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. Not even a minute later, CTX made it a 3-0 score when
Patricia Heckendorn lofted the ball into the box with a cross and found Krenz for a header and a 3-0 advantage.
Concordia's final goal came in the 36th when a lob into the box by Pyterek ricocheted off an Eagles' defender for an own goal. Coming out of the half, Concordia attempted 10 more shots, but the scoring would end at 4-0.
Concordia Texas will now return home to Austin as they will host Austin College this Friday, October 25th. The match is scheduled to be played at St. Edward's University at 5:30pm.
