KERRVILLE, Texas - The Concordia Texas volleyball team fell in a 3-1 contest on the road against Schreiner University. Freshman outside hitter Brooklynne Fitzgerald tallied a career-high 27 digs inside the Stephen's Family Arena on Tuesday.
Set one was tied at 11-apiece, before the Mountaineers closed it out on a 14-3 run. Schreiner led 9-6 early in the second set, but a kill by Haylee Diebel capped off a 5-0 run for CTX to give them the lead. The match was tied 19-19 late in the game, but a 6-1 burst by Schreiner put them up 2-0 in the series.
With both teams trading runs, the score was knotted up at 20 in game three. Concordia would earn the win in the third frame as a kill by Malarie Mican sparked the Tornados' five straight points.
The score was once again tied 20-20 in game four, and CTX claimed the lead with a kill by Kinlea Reeder. Schreiner would then respond with the final five points to secure the victory.

Concordia Texas will next head to San Antonio to take on Trinity University this Saturday, October 22nd at 4pm.
