SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Concordia Texas volleyball team battled in a 3-0 decision against 21st-ranked Trinity University. Malarie Mican posted a game-high 10 kills at the Bell Center on Saturday.
Back-to-back kills by Rayna Pack & Brooklynne Fitzgerald put CTX up 7-6 early in the first set, before a 6-0 run by Trinity gave them back the lead. This would give the Tigers enough breathing room to win game one 25-19.
Both teams traded runs for a 19-19 tie late in the second set. Three straight points for Trinity put them ahead, but a kill by Mia Atkins reduced their deficit to 24-23. Trinity would survive the set to go up 2-0 in the series.
In the final set, an ace by Pack capped off a 10-3 run to start the game. Down 17-13 later in the frame, the Tigers used an 8-1 run to regain the lead as they would go on to win 25-19.
Concordia Texas will next head to Seguin to take on Texas Lutheran this Tuesday, October 29th at 6pm.
