AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team outlasted Austin College by a score of 3-2. Gustavo Hernandez, Jesse Garfias & Cameron Burleson all scored at Lewis Chen Family Field on Friday.

The Tornados struck first when Hernandez fired a free kick laser from 20 yards out in the seventh minute. With the play remaining even throughout the first half, CTX carried a 1-0 lead into the break.

The Roos tied the game just over a minute into the second half, but a beautiful lob into the box by Carlos Huato found Garfias for a header on the opposite side in the 61st. CTX would then find themselves with another advantage when an Austin College player received a red card in the 77th.

Sprinting on a counter attack just three minutes later, beautiful passing by Leo Lopez & Jonathan De La Torre found a streaking Burleson down the middle for the score and a 3-1 advantage. Austin College was able to score one more goal in the 83rd, but Concordia would stand tall for the final minutes to earn the conference victory.

Concordia Texas will next host the University of Dallas for the final home game of the season this Sunday, October 27th. Kickoff is set for 1pm at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
