SEGUIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas volleyball team was downed 3-0 on the road against Texas Lutheran. Junior setter Selena Cooper posted a game-high 31 assists, while Brooklynne Fitzgerald tied the match-high with 10 kills at Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs led 13-11 before using a 5-0 run to gain separation early in the first set. The Tornados would rally back and a kill by Camryn Parker would make it a 19-16 game. The Bulldogs would hold on for a 25-20 win.
With a 16-13 advantage in set two, TLU scored the final nine points to go up two games to none. A kill by Hannah Wamble capped off a 7-3 run to start off the third set for the Tornados. Nursing their lead later in the set, a kill by Fitzgerald put CTX up 21-19. Texas Lutheran would then respond with a 6-0 run to earn the series victory.
After seven straight matches on the road, Concordia Texas will now return home to host Schreiner University this Friday, November 1st at 6pm for Senior Day.
