ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's soccer team set a new program record with eight goals in their clean sheet victory over the University of Dallas. Maddie Oberholtzer & Emma Visser tallied two goals apiece, while Vanessa Ruvalcaba posted a pair of assists at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex on Sunday.
Earning their fourth straight game without allowing a goal, CTX controlled the ball for the majority of the game as they fired off a season high 31 shot attempts (17 on goal). They got on the board in the 20th minute when Falynn Pyterek lobbed a forward pass over the top to Lorian Lopez for a goal.
They then added two goals in the last five minutes of action in the first half as Oberholtzer (41st) & Emma Payne (44th) found the back of the net. Coming out of the half, Patricia Heckendorn raced down the right side and crossed into the box to Avery Walker for the score in the 55th.
Six minutes later, Oberholtzer scored her second goal when Kayla Yancey lobbed the ball in the box & Oberholtzer scored with her body facing away from the net for an incredible goal.Â
In the 76th & 78th minutes, Ruvalcaba earned her two assists to Kallie Krenz & Visser. Visser would then post the final goal of the game with a shot towards the lower right in the 85th. Â
Concordia Texas will next hit the road for Georgetown, Texas to take on Southwestern University next Friday, February 1st at 7:30pm.
