Women's Basketball Bested by #16 Hardin-Simmons

Abby Parra tallied career-highs in points, rebounds and assists on Thursday.

AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team was upended in a 97-53 decision against 16th-ranked Hardin-Simmons University. Zakari Perry posted a team-high 15 points, while Abby Parra collected new career-highs with 13 points and five assists inside the Concordia Fieldhouse.

Haven Haymes & Perry scored the first two baskets for Concordia to get CTX off to a nice start. Perry then connected on a pull up jumper in the paint to make it an 8-6 game wifh just over six minutes remaining in the first quarter. 

A run by the Cowgirls gave them a 33-6 lead going into the next quarter as they would take control for a 60-14 lead at the break. Into the final quarter of action, CTX found momentum when Hayla Flowers found Olivia Dummer for a three to initiate a 12-2 run to finish the game. 

Concordia Texas will now cap off the season this Saturday against McMurry for Senior day at 1pm. Bailey Andrews, Kallie Krenz & Zakari Perry will all be honored before the game.
