CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas- The Concordia Texas men's basketball team was bested in a road matchup against the University of Ozarks, 89-81. Concordia Junior guard
Adolfo Martinez tallied a season-high of 18 points and 3 steals inside Mabee Gymnasium.
In the first two minutes of the game, the Tornadoes scored eight points in a row after hitting four consecutive three-pointers. The Eagles would answer right away, going on a 15-3 run to take back the lead and make it 21-17.
With eight minutes remaining until half, the Ozarks continue to convert offensively extending the lead by double digits. CTX stayed aggressive, responding with another 15-2 run to take the lead by one, 38-37.
Both teams would go on trading baskets throughout the remainder of the half as the Eagles would hit a buzzer beater three-pointer for a 3-point advantage heading into break, 50-47.
Coming out of the half, both teams continued to battle and stay competitive exchanging bucket for bucket. With just under 9 minutes left, Ozarks would gradually begin to pull away from the lead, ultimately escaping with the win by a score of 89-81.
The Concordia Texas men's basketball team will continue the road to face off against UT Dallas in Richardson TX on February 10th at 3:00 PM.
