AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team split a doubleheader with 15th-ranked Texas Lutheran University. Emma Chavez pitched a two-hit gem in the game two win at Roberts Family Field on Tuesday.

GAME ONE: L, 10-0

Texas Lutheran put up one run each in the first three innings for a 3-0 lead going into the fourth. After a scoreless fourth by both teams, the Bulldogs added a pair of runs in the fifth for a 5-0 advantage. They then put together a strong seventh inning with five runs to cap off game one

GAME TWO: W, 2-0

After no runs scored in the first three frames, the Tornados struck first in the fourth when Christian Everett capitalized on an extra-base error in the bottom of the fourth. Later in the inning, a RBI-single by Zaleigh Perez scored Megan Hooper for the 2-0 lead.

The Bulldogs were shut down for the majority of the game & were down to their last three outs before collecting their second hit with a leadoff single in the seventh. CTX tallied their first out when the batter fouled out to Kylie Pavlicek. Chavez then struck out the next batter right before Perez caught the runner on second sleeping for the pick off and the win.

Concordia Texas will head to Marshall, Texas to take on East Texas Baptist in a conference series. First pitch is set for Friday, March 15th at 4pm.
