BOX SCORE ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team was bested in the series finale against Hardin-Simmons University. Kylie Kirk & Mayson Post connected on two-RBI homers at Lou Morton Ellis Field on Saturday.
The Cowgirls scored one run in the first and three in the second for a 4-0 lead. CTX produced instant offense in the third with a pair of two-RBI homers by Kirk & Post to knot the game up at 4-apiece.
Smart base passing by the Tornados gave them a 5-4 advantage when Madeline Velasquez scored in the top of the fifth. Four runs by Hardin-Simmons in the bottom of the sixth gave them an 8-5 lead going into the final frame.Â
CTX was able to put two on with the tying run at the plate and only one out in the seventh. They then loaded the bases with two outs, but the Cowgirls would force a pop fly for the win.Â
