BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team fell by a score of 9-1 in the series opener at Howard Payne. In a game that was rescheduled from last weekend, Grace Coleman scored the lone run for the Tornados on Tuesday.

The Yellowjackets got on the board with an unearned run in the bottom of the first inning. They then added four more runs (three unearned) in the third frame.

In search of a comeback, Coleman, Molly Olivarez & Addison Lehew connected on three consecutive singles to reduce the deficit to 5-1 in the top of the sixth. Howard Payne would add four runs in the bottom of the sixth as they would go on for the game one victory.

Concordia Texas and Howard Payne will conclude the series with a doubleheader tomorrow. First pitch is set for 2pm.
