MARSHALL, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team defeated UT Dallas by a score of 9-5 to advance to the championship round of the ASC Baseball Tournament. Chris Morrow & Julian Swift both hit their third homerun of the tournament at Woods Field on Saturday.

Morrow continued his hot stretch with a solo homerun in the top of the first inning. The Comets also came out on fire as they posted four runs in the bottom of the frame. The Tornados answered quickly in the next half-inning as they loaded the bases.

Mason DuBois then singled up the middle to score Kalen Clark. Efren Sanchez Jr. then scored off a balk, before a groundout RBI by Swift tied the game up. Later in the third with runners in scoring position, Sanchez Jr. was able to give the Tornados the lead by sending Morrow home. 

CTX then made it 6-4 in the fourth when Clark was walked with the bases loaded. Swift then put on the finishing touches in the fifth with his three-run bomb to left field. A solo homerun by UT Dallas cut the deficit to 9-5, but Concordia would hold steady for the victory.

Concordia Texas will now head into the Championship round with no losses. They will face either East Texas Baptist, McMurry, or UT Dallas on Sunday, May 5th. They will either have to only win one game or lose two games for a champion to be crowned.
