LONGVIEW, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team earned a draw on the road at LeTourneau University. Gustavo Hernandez netted the free kick equalizer in the 74th minute at LETU Soccer Field on Thursday.
The Tornados were the aggressors offensively as they doubled the Yellowjackets in shot attempts at 13-7 (6-3 shots on goal). They also tallied four corner kicks to the LeTourneau's two.
The Yellowjackets struck first in the first half when a ricocheted ball found one of their forwards for a goal in the 10th. The Tornados' defense would stiffen as LeToruneau would not shoot any more shots in the first half.
Over the next sixty minutes with both teams in search of the crucial next goal, a beautiful free kick by Hernandez would curve in the bottom left corner to knot the game up at 1-apiece. Both teams would keep fighting for the game winner, but time ran out to result in the tie.
Concordia Texas will now close out their five-match road trip IN Marshall, Texas at ETBU this Saturday, September 15th. Kick off is set for 1pm.
