ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's soccer team showed resilience in a 3-3 draw at Hardin-Simmons University. The Tornados overcame a 3-0 deficit and rattled off three straight goals at the HSU Soccer Field on Monday night.
After a scoreless first 20 minutes of the match, then Cowgirls scored their first goal in the 23 minute. They then scored 10 minutes later & made it a 3-0 game in the 44th.
The Tornados scored three minutes into the second half when a low cross into the box from Emma Payne connected with Avery Walker for a goal. CTX then scored their second goal in the 56th when another cross from Patricia Heckendorn skipped into the box and found Tatum Winn.
Concordia secured the equalizer off an incredible free kick goal by Madelynn Murphy that sailed into the left side of the net. With both teams scurrying for the goal-ahead goal, neither team would be successful as the game would end in a draw.
Concordia Texas will now return home this Saturday, September 21st where they will host Howard Payne for Senior Day. First kick is scheduled for 7:30pm.
