CONWAY, Arkansas - In the final match of the Hendrix Invitational, the Concordia Texas volleyball team outlasted Hendrix in a five set thriller. Brooklynne Fitzgerald, who was named to the Hendrix Invitational All-Tournament Team, tallied career highs of 23 kills & 16 digs inside Grove Gymnasium on Sunday. 

The Tornados led 20-18, before a kill by Faith Zoch sparked a 5-2 run to help CTX claim the first set. Sets two & three were neck-and-neck, but the Warriors would go up two games to one by winning both games by a score of 25-23.

Concordia led set four 19-18 when a kill by Haylee Diebel initiated a 5-0 burst. The Tornados would then force a fifth set with a 25-20 win. 

Keeping up their momentum, Concordia surged ahead for a 9-2 lead in the decisive set. Hendrix would chip away at their deficit and would catch the Tornados by taking a 14-13 lead. CTX would respond valiantly with three straight points to earn the win.

Concordia Texas will now return home to the Fieldhouse to host Texas Lutheran this Friday, September 27th at 6pm.
