AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas volleyball team was bested in their conference opener against Texas Lutheran University by a score of 3-0. Freshman
Jordan Bruscato (10 digs, 10 assists) tallied her first collegiate double-double inside the CTX Fieldhouse on Friday.
The Bulldogs led 8-7 in the first set when an 8-1 burst gave them breathing room en route to claiming a 25-12 win.
Midway through the second set, a kill by
Mia Atkins tied the game at 10-10. A late surge by TLU would put them up two sets to none as they would win 25-14.
With momentum on their side, the Bulldogs started the third game on an 8-1 run, before a kill by
Kinlea Reeder stopped the bleeding. With both teams trading points, a late run by the Tornados would close the gap at 24-20 but the Bulldogs would find their final point to secure the win.
Concordia Texas will now immediately shift their focus to Trinity, who they will host tomorrow at 2pm.
