CONWAY, Arkansas - In their second match of the day at the Hendrix Invitational, the Concordia Texas volleyball team was bested in a 5-set marathon against Rhodes College. Junior Selena Cooper posted a season-high 30 assists & 16 digs inside Grove Gynamsium on Saturday.
The Lynx narrowly claimed the first two sets with a pair of 25-22 wins. The Tornados trailed 8-7 early in game three when they surged ahead with a 9-3 run. Rhodes would comeback to take a 23-21 lead, but a kill by Faith Zoch would spark a furious rally as Concordia would win the set 26-24.
Set four was tied at 18-18 when Concordia forced the fifth set by scoring seven of the last eight points which was capped off by back-to-back kills by Hannah Wamble. The Lynx would ultimately escape with the match victory as they won the final set 15-10.
Concordia Texas will next look to claim victory of the host, Hendrix, tomorrow at noon.
