KERRVILLE, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's basketball team comeback fell short to Schreiner by a score of 84 to 83. Joey Ramirez led the way for the Tornados with career-highs of 32 points & 19 rebounds inside the Stephens Family Arena on Friday.
The Mountaineers struck first for a 17-9 lead, but a jumper by David Martinez sparked a run for the Tornados that tied the game at 21-21. Both teams would trade buckets as Schreiner would carry a three-point advantage into the break.
After being down by 11 near the midway point of the second half, the Tornados fought back where a 15-4 run would knot the game at 64-all. With less than 30 seconds left in the game, an Adolfo Martinez three pointer gave the Tornados a one-point lead. Schreiner would answer with a layup with only nine seconds left to steal the game from the Tornados.
