KERVILLE, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team earned their first conference win of the SCAC event a 70-60 victory over Schreiner. Destiny Mathews led the way with 38 points and 9 rebounds inside Stephens Family Arena on Monday. 

It was a very defensive first quarter as both teams would score 12 points a piece. The Tornados would open up the second quarter with a 7-0 run to command control as Mathews took over with 17 second quarter points. CTX would carry a 35 to 21 lead over the Mountaineers at the break. 

The Mountaineers chipped away at the lead in the third and come as close as seven points, but CTX would still hold a double-digit advantage heading into the final frame at 52-42. An evenly matched fourth would help the Tornados seal the game away from the Mountaineers.
