AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia University Texas has announced the promotion of Brianna Marstaller as the new head coach of the women's basketball program. A longtime member of CTX basketball as both a player and coach, Marstaller becomes the ninth head coach in program history.
"I am honored and excited to step into this role," Marstaller said. "Concordia has been my home for many years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue building a program that supports our student-athletes both on and off the court."
Marstaller has been part of Concordia's women's basketball program for over a decade, serving as associate head coach since 2018 after previous roles as assistant coach, graduate assistant, and recruiting coordinator. As a player, she was a four-year standout, finishing with 816 points, ranking fifth in career three-pointers, and setting single-game records for three-pointers made at both CTX and the American Southwest Conference (ASC).
"Brianna's journey as a player and coach at Concordia makes her uniquely qualified to lead this program," Matt Wallis, Director of Athletics, said. "Her deep knowledge of the game, dedication to our student-athletes, and passion for CTX are going to carry Tornado basketball into an exciting new era."
Marstaller earned her master's degree from Concordia Texas in 2015. She lives in Austin with her husband, Shea, and their two sons, Colton and Connor.
The Tornados will open the 2025–26 season under Marstaller's leadership this fall.
