Cross Country Surges at the DBU Old Glory Gallop

Seven Tornados PR'd on Saturday.

FORT WORTH, Texas - After three weeks away from competition, the Concordia Texas cross country program excelled at the DBU Old Glory Gallop. A total runners earned PRs at the AP Ranch on Saturday morning.

On the men's side, Matthew Kangas led the Tornados with a time of 27:23.49, followed closely by Samuel Valdez at 27:28.44 in the 8k. Gerardo Leal crossed in 29:21.27, while Isaias Mendoza posted a 29:51.76.

Both Edward Wells Wensley (30:19.51) and Damon Vasquez (30:37.68) set new personal records, and Hector Gutierrez (31:14.19) along with Kaden Wolridge (35:01.87) rounded out the lineup.

For the women's 5K, five of the six runners tallied new personal best times. Liliana Lutz paced CTX with a personal best of 21:13.75. Ashley Rivera followed with a 23:03.16.

Kaydence Williamson (23:36.72), Skye Wardlay (23:55.97), Ashley Ramirez (26:00.02), and Breanna Garrett (31:02.58) all recorded PR performances to close out the event.

Concordia Texas will next return to Georgetown, Texas where they competed in the first meet of the season at the Southwestern Showdown at Southwestern University next Saturday, October 18th.
