ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team had their seven-match unbeaten streak snapped in a 2-0 loss against Schreiner University. The Tornados doubled the Mountaineers in shot attempts (24-12) but were unable to find the back of the net at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex on Friday.
The Tornados saw multiple scoring opportunities early in the match as
Alejandro Rojas fired off five shots in the first half alone. Schreiner would capitalize with a counterattack goal in the 39th for a 1-0 lead at the break.
With both teams in search of the next goal, the Tornados would be downed a man when goalkeeper
Luke Briggs received a red card in the 61st. The numbers game would finally prevail for the Mountaineers as they would notch their second goal in the 87th.
Concordia Texas will next host McMurry this Sunday, October 19th. Kick off is set for 7:30pm.
