ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team outlasted McMurry University with a 2-1 triumph.
Ahmad Alhendi scored against his former team &
Irvin Martinez found the back of the net for the game winner at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex on Sunday.
The Tornados tripled the Warhawks in shot attempts at 22-7 (11-3 shots on goal) & corners (4-1).
CTX got on the board in the 33rd when smooth passing in the box from
Ayden Hildreth and
Mark Wilson found Alhendi on the left side for the goal.
Coming out of the break, McMurry notched an equalizer in the 48th. On a counter attack, Concordia would jam the box once again and two passes from
Bryan Rios and
Joseph Perez landed at the foot of Martinez who powered the game winner in the 67th.
Concordia will next host St. Thomas this Friday, October 24th. Kick off is set for 7:30pm.
