Tornados Storm Back in Second Half to Defeat Centenary 3–1

Three different scorers lift CTX to comeback win after trailing early in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana. – The Concordia Texas men's soccer team surged back in the second half to secure a 3-1 victory over Centenary College at Atkins Field on Sunday. Bryan Rios, Mark Wilson, and Andres Munoz each found the back of the net, while Jesse Garfias tallied two assists in the Tornados' dominant performance.

Centenary struck first in the 9th minute when Carter Webb capitalized on a lob from Hayden McConnell to score his fifth goal of the season. Concordia responded with relentless pressure, firing 15 shots in the first half but unable to convert. The Tornados finally broke through in the 35th minute when Wilson netted his first goal of the season off a double assist from Garfias and Alejandro Rojas.

The second half belonged to CTX. In the 84th minute, Rios buried a penalty kick after a foul in the box, leveling the score. Less than a minute later, Munoz delivered the dagger with a powerful strike assisted by Garfias to make it 3-1. Concordia outshot Centenary 29-7 and earned six corner kicks to the Gents' three.

Goalkeeper Leonel Cuellar played all 90 minutes, recording one save and allowing just a single goal. The Tornados' defense held firm, especially in the second half, limiting Centenary to only two shots.
