SHREVEPORT, Louisiana. – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team secured a dominant 2-0 road win over Centenary College at Atkins Field on Sunday. Shelby Jones and Avery Walker each found the back of the net, while Emma Payne added an assist in the Tornados' fifth conference victory of the season.

The Tornados controlled possession early, registering eight first-half shots and earning three corner kicks. Gabrielle Kessler fired the first warning shot in the 3rd minute, and Kayla Yancey forced a save in the 9th. Centenary responded with a corner and a shot on goal in the 10th, but goalkeeper Lemontraja Roberts stood firm.

In the 35th minute, Emma Payne delivered a well-placed ball into the box that connected with Jones, who slotted it home for her first goal of the season. Concordia continued to press, with Payne and Oberholtzer testing the keeper before halftime.

The second half saw more of the same, with Concordia outshooting Centenary 7-1. Walker doubled the lead in the 82nd minute, finishing a solo effort for her second goal of the season. The Tornados defense held strong, limiting Centenary to just three total shots and preserving the clean sheet. Also Roberts finished with two saves in 90 minutes of action

Concordia Texas will next host Texas Lutheran University this Friday, October 31st. Kickoff is set for 5pm.
