CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - The Concordia Texas women's soccer team fought to a 1-1 draw against the University of the Ozarks. Avery Walker connected with Cecilia Escobar for an equalizer at the Thomas & Frances Wilson Soccer Field on Sunday.
The Tornados doubled the Eagles in shot attempts (11-5) & shots on goal (4-2). The Ozarks only produced one shot on target in the first half as both teams entered the break tied 0-0.Â
Just a minute into the second half, an unlucky handball by the Tornados would give the Eagles their only other shot on goal with a penalty kick score.
10 minutes later, a turn and pass from Walker on the left center found Escobar who put the ball in the back of the net. CTX would provide multiple scoring opportunities late in the half, but the Ozarks would barely hold on for a tie.
Concordia Texas will next travel to Irving, Texas to take on the University of Dallas this Friday, October 10th. Kick off is set for 5pm.
