AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's basketball team cruised past Dallas Christian College with a 119-96 win in the season opener. Freshman Tremayne Martin led all players with 31 points and 11 boards as the Tornados forced 37 turnovers (most since Feb. 2019) inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse.

The Tornados only led for seven seconds in the first half as Dallas Christian raced out to a 15-3 lead to take control of the game. Their lead would grow to as much as 13 points before a dish from Silas Livingston fed Jaiden Gastile for a three to tie the game up at 26-all with 7:36 left in the first half.

With both teams trading baskets late in the first, the Crusaders carried a 49-47 lead into the break. With CTX up 64-62 with just under 14 minutes left in the game, the Tornados' pressure would start to get the best of Dallas Christian as the Concordia would go on a 22-5 run to put the game away.

Concordia Texas will next travel to Abilene, Texas to take on Hardin-Simmons University. Tip off is set for 6pm.
