AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's basketball team kept its unbeaten start alive, defeating Arlington Baptist 117-107 inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse on Tuesday night. The Tornados leaned on balanced scoring and relentless pressure, with four starters reaching double figures and the bench adding 37 points.
Concordia came out firing, putting up 64 points in the first half to take a 10-point lead into the break. Arlington Baptist shot an impressive 60 percent from the floor and poured in 78 points in the paint, but the Tornados countered with 34 points off turnovers and 32 second-chance points to stay in control.
The Tornados maintained their edge by dictating the tempo, turning defense into offense and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities. Arlington Baptist kept pace with efficient shooting inside, but Concordia's ability to force turnovers and convert them into fast-break points proved decisive as the game went on.
