The goals, her first two of the season, propelled Concordia to tomorrow's first women's semifinal against the tournament's top seed, Texas Lutheran University.

Payne is the first player to score two goals in a SCAC women's tournament game since Southwestern's Laren Gradt had two goals in a 2022 semifinal game against Texas Lutheran.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Just four minutes later, teammate first-year forward Haley Lopez punched in her fifth goal of the season, assisted by sophomore midfielder Tatum Winn, to double the margin to 2-0.
  • Payne closed out the scoring in the 75th minute when Winn picked up her second straight assist and Concordia pulled out to a 3-0 lead - which proved to be the game's final margin.
