AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's basketball team opened SCAC play on Friday afternoon inside Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse, showing stretches of strong execution but ultimately falling 76–56 to Texas Lutheran. Junior forward Shanna Brown delivered another standout performance, pouring in 28 points and grabbing eight rebounds to lead the Tornados.

TLU struck first and held a narrow edge through the opening quarter, but the Tornados kept pace behind early scoring from Brown and Taysie Trejo, trailing just 16–12 after the first 10 minutes. Concordia continued to generate quality looks in the second quarter, with Zoiey Jumawan providing a spark off the bench and Brown attacking the paint to keep CTX within striking distance at halftime, 35–26.

The Bulldogs used a decisive third‑quarter push to create separation, outscoring the Tornados 17–9 in the frame. Despite the deficit, Concordia continued to compete, with Brown scoring at all three levels and Trejo adding timely buckets and defensive pressure. CTX posted 21 points in the fourth quarter, its highest-scoring period of the afternoon but TLU's efficiency down the stretch secured the result.

Brown's 28 points marked her second straight game over the 25‑point mark, while Trejo added eight points, seven assists, and three steals in a well-rounded effort. Jumawan chipped in 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, and Samantha Ising anchored the interior with 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Concordia forced 16 TLU turnovers and generated 14 points off giveaways, but the Bulldogs' 44–39 rebounding edge and nine made three-pointers proved pivotal.

The Tornados will next face College of Biblical Studies of Houston on Jan.1 at 5 PM inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse.
