BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's basketball team used a second-half surge to pull away from College of Biblical Studies-Houston, earning a 78–70 win inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
After trailing for the first three minutes of the game, the Tornados came back to end the first quarter on a 7-0 run before CBS made a stop. Flipping the game with aggressive defense and scoring in the paint. CTX never trailed again, building an 11-point lead early in the fourth and sealing the win with a clutch three-pointer from Zoiey Jumawan in the final minute.
Concordia controlled the boards with a 54–41 rebounding edge and forced 14 turnovers, converting them into 12 steals and key fast-break opportunities. The Tornados also held CBS to 29 percent shooting from deep and limited their top scorers in crunch time.
Shanna Brown led the way with 16 points and 7 rebounds, while Taysie Trejo added 10 points and 3 steals. CTX's bench contributed 36 points.
