AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team fell short by a score of 3-2 in the series opener against Trinity University. Bo Dinscore & Matthew Armes both scored at Gardner-Boggs Field on Friday.
The Tigers struck first with a solo homerun in the second. They then scored another run in the top of the fourth for a 2-0 lead. Looking to answer in the bottom of the frame, Dinscore doubled to left center as the leadoff. He would then score and cut the lead in half with a sacrifice bunt by Logan Smith.
Trinity plated another run in the fifth for a 3-1 advantage. The Tornados would put two runners in scoring position, but an interesting strike three call on a full count would leave the Tigers ahead 3-1 going into the sixth.
Down to their final out with one on, Zach Seigrist smashed a RBI-double to left center to score Kolten McDaniel and make it a 3-2 game. Trinity would ultimately record the final out to claim game one.
