AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's basketball team surged to a 92-74 victory over McMurry University. Donovan Stafford led all scorers with 20 points, while Joey Ramirez collected a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double inside the Deb & Don Center on Monday.
Both teams traded runs and were deadlocked at 36-all with only 1:34 left in the first half. CTX would reclaim the lead when Ramirez found Adolfo Martinez for a wing three that initiated a 7-0 run for CTX. The Warhawks would knock down a three right before the halftime buzzer to make it a 43-39 score.
Surging ahead, Concordia's leadnreached double digits at 50-39 early in the second half. A run by McMurry saw them get within one point at 52-51 with 15:08 left in the game.
Stafford would then find a cutting Ramirez to shift the momentum. Concordia would not lose the lead for the remainder of the game as they would go on to cruise to victory.
