GAME 1
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Concordia Tornados came out fired-up in Game 1 of their doubleheader showdown with Trinity University, landing the first blows and going toe-to-toe with the Tigers before narrowly falling 5-2 in a hard-fought contest.
From the very first pitch, the Nados
Malarie Mican set the tone by reaching 1st on an error, immediately stole second, and came around to score on a clutch RBI single by
Addison Lehew, giving Concordia the early lead.
An inning later, more aggressive baserunning and high-pressure plate appearances rattled the Trinity defense.
Harley Drouillard and
Karlee Mathis made things happen on the basepaths, forcing errors and pushing across another run for a 2-1 edge.
Kylie Pavlicek and
Christian Everett both added base hits, helping the Tornados keep the heat on.
Offensively,
Lehew continued to be a spark plug at the plate, going 2-for-4 and knocking in a run. Mican stole two bags and scored, and the Tornados combined for
four steals overall but the Tigers would come out with the victory.

GAME 2
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Concordia Tornados came out in Game 2 of their SCAC doubleheader, striking first, and making it close before the Tigers escaped with a narrow 6-2 win Saturday afternoon.
Locked in a scoreless battle through three innings, the Tornados cracked things open in the top of the 4th.
Kylie Kirk, who was a force at the plate all game, smacked her second base hit of the day.
Harley Drouillard came in to run and instantly made an impact—snatching second base and putting herself 60 feet from home. Veteran catcher
Molly Olivarez followed with a perfectly placed single, and just like that, Concordia had Trinity on the ropes.
The rally continued as
Taylor Smrt stepped up and delivered a clean RBI single up the middle, and with heads-up baserunning, Olivarez took advantage of a Trinity miscue to plate a second run.
Mayson Post opened strong in the circle, while
Krista Burg and
Karlee Mathis came in for relief. Mathis locked things down late, tossing two clean innings and giving the team a chance to claw back telling you you're beautiful but the tigers would ultimately go on to claim the game.
CTX will continue road play next week on March 28th vs Schreiner University.
